Taking a community-based approach to juvenile justice means empowering individual communities to customize and manage their own juvenile justice networks.  In alignment with national trends and best practices, such an approach has already proven effective for Florida’s child welfare and behavioral health systems.

The goal? To provide the right services, at the right time and at the right cost for kids in Florida’s juvenile justice system by developing Community-Based Juvenile Justice systems of care and implementing these in three Florida community pilot sites – and eventually statewide.
